Swine Flu!
Jun. 27th, 2009 11:13 amKay, I admit I am out of the loop when it comes to the news. I'm not allowed to see it unfiltered because my reactions are excessive.
And then I read about swine flu. Talk about over-reaction! The world seems to have gone insane - the US has over a million cases of the disease with only 127 fatalities and yet they are acting as if it is worse than any other disease in history. Um, folks, get a grip. Those statistics are EXACTLY THE SAME as every other version of flu in history. Using normal illness to get headlines is pathetic. The UN, US, and every other tax-sponsored body trying to make money or garner public awareness based on the swine flu should be ashamed. They won't be, of course, since people are scum.

Date: 2009-06-27 04:18 pm (UTC)Those who had the flu before 1957 already had it. normal flu kills lots of old folks, but they had it already, this one killing mostly young folks (who also had other health troubles)
Most of the folks in 1918 who's immune system could not handle it did not live to have descendants today, so it most likely not going to be as bad.
